About the project

Dwelling amidst charming greenery, the new residential complex is located in Hackney, a borough in east London known for its buzzing energy, numerous parks and squares, thriving nightlife, and diverse community.

Sheltered from the bustling megapolis by tranquil church gardens, Hackney Gardens is endowed with a beautiful view of St. John at Hackney Church and the leafy area surrounding it. The Grade II-listed building of the Anglican church has embraced the youthful energy bustling in the borough and been transformed into a music venue, hosting numerous artists, including Robbie Williams, Emeli Sandé, and Ed Sheeran.

Apart from the churchyard, Hackney Gardens is within a 10-minute walk of another green space – Hackney Downs Park. An abundance of lovely meadows and wildflowers of the park provides a peaceful sanctuary from the outside world. Those who prefer more active leisure will appreciate the various sport facilities, including football pitches, basketball courts, and a bowling green.

In addition, the new complex is 5 minutes away from the Hackney Central station, providing easy access to and around the centre of London.

What are the project features?

The three mid-rise buildings create an almost serene corner, overlooking the churchyard. Wyles House displays a unique elongated drop-like shape with two round and two pointy corners. The L-shaped building of Blackburn House seems to follow the direction of its neighbour, acting as a continuation of the overall pattern.

The colour scheme of the residential complex was inspired by the nearby church. The façade is covered with dark bricks, interspersed with brass cladding, while the enormous full-height windows bathe the living areas with natural light. Surrounded by elegant black railings, the buildings are adorned with two types of balconies: the glass cantilevered balconies add elegant minimalistic tones to the building, while the closed ones with brass sheets accentuate the burst of colour.

Are there amenities and facilities at Hackney Gardens?

The landscaped pathways and gardens continue the green area of the churchyard, bringing residents of Hackney Gardens even closer to the serene atmosphere of the park. The centrepiece of the complex is a bronze sculpture by Brixton-based artist Charlie Mackesy that embellishes Prodigal Square.

Both Wyles and Blackburn House are served by a concierge. Several cycle stores are scattered around the area.

Hackney Gardens provides top-notch security as the complex is equipped with a video entry phone system and a number of CCTV cameras around the development. Moreover, the security fob access is provided to all residents.
