Northern Quarter in Yekaterinburg

About the project

The Northern Quarter is located in the Ordzhonikidze district in the square of Stachek, Voikova, Kashirskaya streets and Ritsland lane. It is located in a quiet area between major city highways: Cosmonauts Avenue and Old Bolsheviks Street. The quarter consists of multi-storey buildings with three towers around the perimeter and six urban villas inside. Facades combining light and dark stucco accentuate warm wood-like panels. The rhythm of buildings is created through the alternation of windows of different sizes, walking terraces and loggias.

The nearest metro station, Prospect Kosmonavtov, is a 10-minute walk and connects the residential area with the center of Yekaterinburg. There are also bus and trolleybus routes passing through the area. By car, Cosmonauts Avenue can be reached in 15 minutes. In addition to transport accessibility, the district has a developed infrastructure: kindergartens, schools, lyceum and gymnasiums work nearby. Around the quarter there are shopping centers, Omega shopping mall, shops and a sports club.

The quarter was designed by the Dutch architectural bureau.

The beautification project of the quarter connects courtyards, game and sports zones into a single space. A central pedestrian street passes through the quarter, collecting scattered green areas on both sides. Urban villas are surrounded by trees and green plants - this part of the quarter is made more private and quiet. The main public place of the "Northern Quarter" will be the square square with open access for residents and citizens.

In the quarter closed courtyards, free of cars, playgrounds for children of different ages, walking garden paths and sports grounds were made. The space is organized so that those involved in sports do not disturb vacationers, and children play in a safe place in the yard.

The street and courtyard are connected by porches with through entrances. You can unload things or go to the store from the side of the street, for a walk - right into the yard. Entrance groups are located at ground level and made transparent. Residents see what is happening inside the entrance and outside in the courtyard.

At the entrance there is a place where you can leave a stroller or bicycle. In the lobby and on the floors made navigation. On the walls are the numbers of floors and the direction of the apartments. Guests understand where to go.

The rooms in the apartments of Brusniki have a regular rectangular shape, close to a square. They do not have extra corners and protrusions. Such rooms create a feeling of proportionality, so it is pleasant to be in them. In rectangular rooms it is easier to maintain balance and symmetry in the arrangement of furniture. A comfortable distance is maintained between objects (from 30 cm to 1 m).

In the quarter there is an underground parking. It provides standard and family seats (the latter can leave two cars in place). The safety of the machines is guaranteed by a video surveillance system of dozens of cameras and round-the-clock security.
