About the project
Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is a quiet village located at the intersection of Oesling and Gutland in the north-east of the country. The municipality of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre is made up of three localities: Erpeldange / Sûre, Ingeldorf and Burden.
The municipality belongs to the canton of Diekirch and is an integral part of the urban ensemble called "Nordstad" which is made up together with the municipalities of Bettendorf, Colmar-Berg, Diekirch, Ettelbruck and Schieren. This region is considered to be the third development pole of the Grand Duchy, alongside the cities of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette.
In the center of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, there are several small shops and restaurants. In Ingeldorf (9 minutes by car) are several large supermarkets, clothing stores, a pharmacy, appliance and furniture stores as well as various car workshops. In Diekirch (6 minutes by car) you will find a wide variety of restaurants and cafes as well as a cinema.
The Center Hospitalier du Nord in Ettelbruck is only 8 minutes away by car.
Erpeldange-sur-Sûre offers a number of sporting activities. The city has a sports and cultural center, a football field and a tennis court. At the “Étang de Mechelsbach” fishing pond, you can spend a relaxing day fishing.
There is also a small restaurant.
The castle of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre was built in the 12th century as a water tower. The castle was temporarily used as a church, today it houses the municipal administration.
