About the project

Green city

A flagship project for sustainable living

Paper. Tons of paper. Paper was produced by the meter in the Sihl factory for almost a hundred years. Ten years after the closure, children will soon be playing and adults talking under blossoming trees where industrial halls once stood. Greencity is the name of the new project that is being built in Zurich Manegg and in which Swiss Life is involved as an investor. In addition to 735 apartments, the new district also has a school, a hotel, office and retail space.

Sustainability plays an important role in Greencity. In particular, the concept of the "2000-watt society" is in the foreground. As a lighthouse project, Greencity is the first district in Zurich to be based entirely on the principles of this energy and socio-political model. This provides residents and commercial users with the framework conditions to significantly reduce their consumption of resources.
