About the project

The old Brigadier police barracks will be home to 12 new families. The layout of the building consists of 4 ground floor duplexes and 8 apartments, each with its own bicycle shed. All duplexes have an office space to practice a liberal profession, old ceilings with brick barrel vaults and a garden giving access to the park. In Brigadier we combine the charm of the past with the comfort of today.

Behind the historic facade of the gendarmerie barracks, 8 brand new family homes are making their entrance. Each house has a private garden, cellar and access to a central area for collective use and a communal garden that is connected to the Gendarmenhof, but still offers sufficient privacy. Here you can enjoy the charm of a historic building, combined with the luxury of a new building.

Maigret is the eye-catcher of the Tinel site. A commercial space will be built on the ground floor. The 7 floors above have a total of 14 apartments with 3 bedrooms each. The Sjampetterke is a smaller existing barracks building that forms the public access (with elevator) to the underground car park. In addition, an office will be owned by the City of Mechelen.
