About the project
Q for quality, for quarters, maybe for cross-country, definitely for "d'Chue am Waldrand" - because that was the name of the winning project by Matti Ragaz Hitz Architekten AG from Köniz when it came to the basic idea for the last larger, contiguous building land reserve in Frauenkappelen, just behind the Berner Westside, this new, forward-looking development on the edge of the forest in Frauenkappelen. Q for quality - a holistic urban planning concept for around 115 colorfully mixed residential units in different building types for different uses. Q also and above all stands for quarter – with its layout, the open spaces and the architecture, the combination of rental and owner-occupied apartments, which is intended to attract a diverse range of residents, the Q-Matte will be more like a village than a settlement. That is exactly the idea of this innovative construction project on the edge of the forest in the up-and-coming young west of Bern.
