It is difficult to imagine modern Kyiv without everything that Kyivmiskbud has created over the years of its activity. The new history of Kyiv and the history of Kyivmiskbud are inextricably linked.
The history of the company begins in 1955 with the creation of the Main Department of Housing and Civil Construction under the Kyiv City Executive Committee on the basis of specialized enterprises in Kyiv. The purpose of the creation of "Golovkyivmiskbud" was to increase the volume of housing and civil construction in the capital of Ukraine, the introduction of industrial methods of housing construction.
Already in the first years of operation, the volume of construction of Golovkyivmiskbud exceeded several times the volume performed by the organizations that were part of it, and ten years later increased almost 30 times.
The creation of house-building plants made it possible to start multi-panel house-building in Kyiv, which significantly improved the living conditions of Kyiv residents. The first 5-storey panel house was installed on Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard in 1958.
Kyivmiskbud employees have built the vast majority of unique objects that adorn the city: hotels "Slavutych", "Lybid", "Kyiv", "Sport", "Khreschatyk", "Salyut", "Kozatsky", the memorial complex of the Great Patriotic War. war, the construction of ASC television, universities, supermarkets, industrial facilities and structures, laboratory buildings and many other facilities.
Reconstructed objects became the pride of Kyiv city builders - the Palace of Culture "Ukraine", the National Philharmonic, renovated squares and streets of Kyiv, re-equipment of transport hubs near the metro station "Petrivka", bus station, Glory Square. This list is supplemented by multifunctional transport interchanges built on several levels - on O. Teliga Street and Sevastopol Square. The decoration of Kyiv was definitely the construction of the Southern Railway Station, which was built by Kyivmiskbud in 158 days. In terms of construction - this is definitely a record.
