About the project
BUILD SYSTEMS SOFIA has started the construction of a new construction - a building at 119 Vitosha Blvd., again relying on its successful cooperation with the architects from AEDES STUDIO.
Vitosha Boulevard is a specific urban fabric, marking the very heart of the city, which has become a symbol of its urbanity. Facing the mountain and leading to South Park. The contrast between the city and nature is embedded in it, in its central position and the name of the mountain it bears. It is this dualism at the urban level that is the starting point for the project as a new construction.

If we increase the scale to the silhouette of the specific place, it is easy to see that № 119 is located right in the middle between the two cross streets. From this point of view, a building at 119 Vitosha Blvd., strictly geometrically, falls into the imaginary axis of symmetry oriented towards the boulevard.
Another characteristic feature of the place, which is imprinted on the image of the building, is the former silhouette, built of houses on a scale much smaller than today. From the analogy with the old street silhouette, the axis of symmetry, in which the building inadvertently falls, acquires a second meaning. It not only divides it in two, but also to some extent returns it to that gradually dying Sofia scale of the separate house.
Thus, two benchmarks are extracted from the place, which create the image of the building. The first is the duality imposed both by the character of the street and by the geometric axis bisecting the façade. It is the contrast between two elements that underlies the chosen façade motif, which determines the character of the façade. Because behind the magnificent geometry of this eastern ornament in a stylized image lies the eternal conflict between natural forms and those created by man. Upon closer analysis, the two building blocks of the motif are clearly outlined - the stylized images of a prism and a leaf. From their superimposition in a certain geometric order the familiar characteristic ornament is obtained.
