About the project

The development project “BeverBrugge” concerns the redevelopment of an underused industrial site with a total surface area of ​​36,516m². The site is part of a Brownfield covenant and an RUP “Dammestraat” applies.

Brocap is responsible for the further redevelopment of the site into a sustainable business park for local & medium-sized companies. In addition to developing the business zone, the concept of “cottage industry” will also be introduced for part of the site. The principle is that residential accommodation can also be realized in this zone per business unit. In the larger whole, the cottage industry zone also forms the soft transition between the industrial zone and residential zone. A sub-plot to the north also offers opportunities for new developments in retail activities within the Brugsesteenweg RUP.

In order to be able to realize this full development, the sites must first be prepared for construction. This entails the demolition and remediation of the former industrial site. 1 shed will be retained and passed on to the social organization Weerwerk vzw, which has already moved into the building.

At the beginning of July 2021, Brocap submitted the BSP (soil remediation project) and a permit application for the development of the public roads and the buildings based on the RUP. After this, the soil will be remediated and the decomposition will continue.
