The history of the Zhilstroy-2 team began on October 5, 1943, when the Kharkov Administration of Military-Industrial Construction under the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR resumed work in Kharkov, liberated from Nazi troops. The main tasks of the Department at that time were the restoration and construction of new workshops at the KHEMZ, KhTZ, Turbine, Aviation and other industrial enterprises.
After the war, the staff of the enterprise restored and built many buildings that became the hallmark of Kharkov.
The architectural ensemble of the current Freedom Square is largely determined by the buildings of the Regional State Administration and the Giprokoks Institute that we built in those years.
